Lucid adds inventory section to website allowing you to buy a Lucid Air “ready to deliver”

Lucid is now giving customers the option to order one of their luxury electric sedans for immediate delivery with a new existing inventory section on their website.

The existing inventory page comes on the heels of Lucid revealing the number of reservations has dropped in the last quarter by more than the number of vehicles they delivered.

According to the new page, first spotted by a member of the Lucid Forum, it is the “most convenient way to put a Lucid Air in your driveway,” and that they are “configured with our customers’ favorite options.”

Despite that last statement, each one of the nine Air Grand Touring vehicles available for purchase at the time of publication are configured in a variety of different interior and paint options, making it unclear if these are cars that customers have cancelled, or if Lucid is building cars specifically to sell as existing inventory.

Each one is priced at $154,000USD, the same price as if you were to configure one today.

There is no option to actually pay for and purchase one of the vehicles directly through the website, with Lucid only allowing you to send an inquiry to one of their sales advisors on a vehicle you are interested in.

Lucid is still in the very early stages of ramping production, having only produced 2,282 vehicles in their most recent quarter. Deliveries were also low at just 1,398, a little more than half of their quarterly production.

Combined with a drop in the number of outstanding reservations, sitting at 34,000 as of November 7 compared to more than 37,000 three months earlier, having cars available for immediate delivery is not a good sign for the fledgling automaker who should be delivering every single car they make to their reservation holders.

There is no existing inventory section on the Canadian version of Lucid’s website.
