Ford Charge launches with 1,200 public fast chargers across Canada and U.S.

Ford has announced the launch of Ford Charge, a new public fast-charging network now available across Canada and the United States with nearly 1,200 DC fast chargers installed at more than 320 Ford dealerships.

Ford says over 800 of its dealerships have joined the program, collectively providing access to more than 3,000 DC fast chargers for the public. While individual dealers can choose their charging provider, many have opted for Ford to directly manage operations through the new Ford Charge network.

The initiative builds on Ford’s electrification strategy and provides peace of mind to EV owners by offering a network backed by a major automaker. “Ford Charge is backed by Ford and offers reliable fast charging at dealerships across the U.S. and Canada,” the company confirmed at the launch.

Ford Charge integrates with the BlueOval Charge Network, bringing together thousands of chargers across multiple providers and ensures that drivers can access fast charging within 18 miles on most major U.S. highways.

Through apps such as FordPass, PlugShare, and Shell Recharge, drivers can locate Ford Charge stations, check real-time availability, see pricing information, and plan routes with charging stops included. Many dealership chargers are available 24/7, and Ford has added a dedicated call-centre line offering round-the-clock live support for anyone using its charging stations.

The Ford Charge network is not limited to Ford customers. Any EV with compatible charging capability can plug in, extending benefits to a wide range of drivers. Ford Charge also supports Plug & Charge functionality, meaning customers can easily connect and authenticate charging sessions at participating stations.
