EPCOR launches EPCOR Go EV program for EV chargers in South Georgian Bay and southwestern Ontario

EPCOR announced that the company is launching the EPCOR Go EV program to support the installations of electric vehicle charging stations.

EPCOR received funding from Natural Resources Canada for the program, which will cover up to 50 per cent of costs associated with purchasing and installing the charging stations.

The program will max out at $100,000 per project and support organizations in the South Georgian Bay Region.

Ideally, EPCOR is supporting projects in their catchment area, which includes Collingwood, Thornbury, Creemore, Stayner, Kincardine, and Aylmer.

EPCOR did not release the total amount of money that is available for the various projects.

Eligible EV charging locations for the project include:

  • Multi-unit residential buildings
  • Light-duty vehicle fleets
  • Workplaces
  • On-street parking
  • Public venues such as municipal lots, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, retail parking and other community facilities

Private residences, including home businesses, are not eligible for the funding or the program.

In addition, EPCOR will provide project oversight of developing the charging stations that receive Natural Resources Canada funding.

The deadline for submissions for the eligible projects is March 31, 2022. Interested parties can find details on eligibility, the available incentives and the applications process online at epcor.com/GoEV.
