Elon Musk offered 100 acres of land to move Twitter HQ to Texas

Hoping to cash in on Elon Musk’s love for Texas, a local rancher is offering 100 acres of land if Musk picks up and moves Twitter’s headquarters from San Francisco to the Lone Star State.

That rancher is Jim Schwertner, who offered Musk the land located about 38 miles north of Austin where else but on Twitter. Tesla recently moved its corporate headquarters from California to Austin, and also opened their brand new Gigafactory just minutes outside the city.

If Musk accepts the offer, Schwertner will hardly miss the 100 acres. As President and CEO of Schwertner Farms, his portfolio includes about 20,000 acres of land in the area.

“I just think with all the stuff he’s done, he evidently likes Texas, right or he wouldn’t have moved from California. And I want to be part of his plan if he’ll come visit with us,” Schwertner told Austonia.

But Schwertner isn’t the only Texan trying to lure Musk to move Twitter’s HQ to Texas. Governor Greg Abbott has also weighed in on Twitter, saying Musk should do it so Twitter can join his other companies in the state.
