Elon Musk to accept Axel Springer Award during livestream event on December 1

On December 1, 2020 Elon Musk will personally accept the Axel Springer Award in Berlin, Germany that honours his life accomplishments.

The award “honours outstanding personalities who are innovative in an extraordinary way, who create and change markets and who shape culture while at the same time shouldering their social responsibility,” the company said in a press release.

The annual event is tailored to the award winner, with this year’s theme aptly being “An Evening for Elon Musk – Mission to Mars,” paying homage to the SpaceX CEO’s goal of making the human species multi-planetary.

Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer, will personally talk to Elon Musk about what drives and inspires him with a “Business Talk” during the event. Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn will also give a speech honouring Musk.

Previous winners of the award include Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook; Sir Tim Berners – Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web; Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon and owner of the Washington Post” and the economist and author Shoshana Zuboff.
