Elon Musk and Cybertruck make splash at United States Grand Prix in Austin

Formula 1 held the 2023 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas over the weekend, but on Sunday the main attraction wasn’t the race on the track, but rather Elon Musk and the Cybertruck.

Earlier this year Tesla CEO Elon Musk attended his first F1 race, the Miami Grand Prix, where he was hosted by the Red Bull Team and given an exclusive tour of their garage by team boss Christian Horner, during which he proposed a “pure EV vs gas/hybrid F1 race.” While that offer hasn’t been taken up yet, Musk was in attendance at the United States Grand Prix on Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas, located just 10 miles south of Giga Texas, along with his son X (short for X Æ A-Xii).

With the close proximity to the factory Musk personally drove to the event, but if he wanted to keep a low profile he chose the wrong vehicle to show up in – a Cybertruck. While Musk’s entrance was fairly low key, his exit was anything but.

With the Cybertruck sitting out in the open for several hours, and after word of Musk being in attendance had gotten out, hundreds of fans had gathered to capture a glimpse of the stainless steel truck and the Tesla boss, with some of them chanting “Elon, Elon, Elon” as he tried to drive away.

We also got a look from the inside, with a video being shared on Instagram by @ty_haney showing X waving goodbye to the crowd and that this Cybertruck had a white interior.

This exposure at the F1 race on Sunday will only build up more hype for the launch of the Cybertruck, which is happening just over a month from now on November 30 at Giga Texas. With the launch just weeks away, the build quality of this Cybertruck looked to be impeccable, as you can see in this walk-around video we shared on X yesterday.
