The meeting will also reportedly be attended by several prominent businessmen including Telecom Italia Chief Executive Pietro Labriola and the chairman of Brazilian lender Banco BTG Pactual, Andre Esteves.

The meeting comes a few months after Musk met with Brazilian Communications Minister Fabio Faria at Giga Texas in November last year. The possibility of using SpaceX technology to bring Starlink satellite internet to schools in rural areas of the country and to help reduce deforestation in the Amazon rainforest were discussed at that meeting.

Musk has been busy meeting with world leaders in recent weeks. At SpaceX’s Boca Chica facility last week he met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo to discuss potential investments and technology involving both Tesla and SpaceX.

Musk was invited to visit Indonesia, which he hopes to do in November.
