Argument over Tesla Supercharger leads to fatal shooting

A Tesla driver has been shot and killed over what appears to be an argument over a Supercharger stall. The incident took place this morning at a Supercharger outside of the Edgewater Public Market in Denver, Colorado.

The exact details about what transpired are still under investigation, but according to a report from Denver7’s Bryan Wang two adult males started arguing and fighting over a Supercharger. It is not yet clear what the argument was about. The altercation ended when the suspect fired two shots, one of which hit the victim.

The victim was rushed to hospital but unfortunately died from his injuries. The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a Tesla, but later called 911 to turn himself in, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The Edgewater Supercharger is an 8-stall V3 station. Based on photos of the scene after it was cordoned off, at least 7 of the 8 stalls were occupied (6 vehicles remained on scene, while the now empty 7th would have been the suspect). Police are trying to obtain footage from each of the Tesla vehicles to see if any of the onboard cameras captured what transpired leading up to and during the shooting.
