Polestar continues to refine its first electric vehicle with the introduction of the 2026 Polestar 2, delivering a suite of upgrades, from enhanced technology to premium audio.
Sharper, Faster Infotainment
At the heart of the 2026 refresh is a major tech upgrade. Polestar has integrated a new Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip into the Polestar 2’s infotainment system. This significantly boosts system performance, enabling faster app downloads, smoother animations, and quicker reaction times throughout the vehicle’s digital interface.
Design Tweaks Inside and Out
The exterior of the 2026 Polestar 2 gains a fresh new option with the introduction of “Dune,” a sophisticated metallic finish with a sandy tone, replacing the previous Jupiter paint. Performance enthusiasts can also opt for the updated forged 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, now the lightest wheels offered on the Polestar 2, available as part of the optional Performance Pack.
Inside, sustainability meets style with the new bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal, complete with distinctive quilting and paired with Black Ash decor panels. This interior option comes bundled with the Plus Pack, enhancing the car’s upscale yet eco-conscious appeal.
Bowers & Wilkins Sound
For audiophiles, Polestar has partnered with Bowers & Wilkins to offer an optional high-end sound system. The “Bowers & Wilkins for Polestar” system features 14 speakers, pumping out 1,350 watts. Tweeter-on-Top technology and Continuum midrange speakers ensure clarity and minimal distortion, whether you’re enjoying an upbeat playlist or an immersive podcast. There are also some subtle design touches like branded door panel detailing and stainless-steel speaker grilles.

Plug & Charge and Prime Pack
Polestar is making charging easier with the addition of Plug & Charge capability. Once activated via the Polestar Charge app, drivers can simply plug into compatible public chargers without fumbling for apps or charge cards — the vehicle takes care of authentication and payment automatically.
Polestar has also introduced Prime Pack, which combines the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs with rear privacy glass into one bundle. Rear side windows and the tailgate now also receive privacy tinting.
A Subtle Boost in Range
In select markets, the Standard Range Single Motor variant gets a slight but meaningful battery upgrade. Swapping the old 69 kWh LG Chem battery for a 70 kWh CATL pack, the Polestar 2 now achieves up to 554 km (WLTP) of range.
