It was just like any other day in Fremont, with lots of Tesla’s doing their usual highway commute. What made this commute special is that a prototype Tesla Model Y was spotted alongside two of its little siblings, the Model 3.
The rare sight provides us with what may be the best size comparison yet between the two vehicles. We can see from the picture that the Model Y is quite a bit taller than the Model 3, and the rear end also looks much larger than the Tesla sedan. We also saw perhaps this same blue Model Y over the weekend next to a Model S and Model 3.
The more and more we see the Model Y out in the wild the more we think Tesla has really nailed the design of the crossover SUV. As Elon Musk has pointed out in the past, the Model Y hits a huge segment of the automobile market, and if the popularity of the Model 3 is anything to go by, the Model Y could outsell all other vehicles from Tesla combined. As a reminder, Tesla just delivered 112,000 vehicles in Q4, that would be a lot of Model Y’s.
The Long Range version of the Model Y in Canada will start at $66,390 CAD and the Performance version is available for $84,390 CAD.
