Tesla owner’s manual hints ventilated seats may come to the Model 3/Y

Tesla brought back ventilated seats with the introduction of the Model S and Model X refresh last year.

According to the latest versions of the owner’s manual on Tesla’s website, the feature may soon also make its way to the Model 3 and Model Y.

In the Climate Controls section of the manual for software version 2021.44.25.2, an illustration for the new ‘Climate Popup’ shows an all-new ‘Cool’ button alongside the heated seat control.

The accompanying note says to press the button to cool the seats “if equipped.” (h/t: u/Peters_model_y)

This information should be taken with caution, and you probably shouldn’t hold off placing an order in the hopes the feature will arrive soon.

In reviewing the Model S owner’s manual, the same section shows the same illustration, so it could just be sloppy editing on the part of Tesla employees.

Ventilated or cooling seats were also not included in an extensive list of changes for the 2022 model year uncovered from testing in Norway last year.

Although neither were heater wipers, and that feature is now being tested in China.
