Tesla prepares for Thailand operation with walk-in recruitment

Tesla is intent on spreading its tentacles all over the world. The EV maker is focused on Asia, accelerating hiring efforts in Bangkok, Thailand. This is a follow-up to our earlier report about Tesla posting job vacancies in the country.

Tesla is now conducting walk-in hiring, with the event scheduled for September 16th and 17th. It will recruit for 16 positions to kickstart its operation in Thailand. The location is All Seasons Place.

While Tesla is hiring for sales operations, Chinese BYD has signed a land in the country. It plans to build an EV plant there. Other automakers with manufacturing bases in Thailand include Toyota and Honda. The country is the fourth largest in auto assembly in Asia, with up to 2 million vehicles produced annually.

Thailand is pursuing the electrification of its transportation system to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Government spokesperson Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana says, “As part of that, the government now has a policy of not only supporting the increasing use of electric vehicles in the country but to likewise make Thailand a hub for producing electric cars and motorbikes in the Asian region.”
