170 EV chargers coming to British Columbia

To wrap up #EVWeekinCanada, the Federal Government announced a combination of $800,000 for 170 EV chargers in British Columbia. MP Hedy Fry of Burnaby made the announcement on behalf of the Minister of Natural Resources.

First, British Columbia Institute of Technology received $300,000 to install 60 EV chargers on their Burnaby campus. BCIT is investing $473,000 to complete the project.

The City of Delta received $77,000 to install 20 EV chargers across Delta. The City is also contributing $135,000 for the project

QuadReal Property Group received $260,000 to install 34 EV chargers in Vancouver. The CleanBC Go Electric Program is contributing $50,000 with the company putting $330,000 towards the project.

The Owners, at Canada House in Olympic Village received $86,000 for 36 EV stations and the update of the existing infrastructure to support the chargers. The group also received $54,000 from the Government of British Columba and the group provided the remaining $86,000.

Finally, the Corporation of the District of Saanich received $100,000 to install 20 chargers in the community. The District will also contribute $270,000 for the project.
