Up-close look at new Tesla Model 3 wood door trim in white

Earlier this year Tesla introduced a new interior design feature to the Model 3 and Model Y in China. The new wood trim that now extends from the dash onto the driver and passenger doors generated a lot of discussion among the Tesla community, both positive and negative.

Until now we have only seen the new design on the standard black interior which features the natural wood finish on the dash and door trim. Probably the biggest complaint was that the direction of the grain did not match as the dash transitioned to the doors.

We now have our first up-close look at the white interior, which features a flat white finish with no grain to complain about.

As you can see in the images posted to Twitter by @Tesla_Mania, the new design looks much smoother and cleaner than when finished with the wood grain.

So far this design change has not yet made it North America. As with other changes that have first appeared in China, it is likely only a matter of time before Fremont adds it to their production line.

Do you like the new design in white better than the wood finish on the black interior? Let us know in the comments below.
