Vietnamese airline Vietjet is preparing to introduce Starlink internet across its entire fleet of 120 aircraft.
The airline confirmed the upcoming service on social media, with SpaceX’s Starlink account also announcing the partnership.
The announcement follows an agreement signed between Vietjet and Starlink Services Vietnam in May 2026. A more detailed announcement outlining the rollout across the airline’s 120 aircraft is expected to take place in New York City on September 23.

Starlink Already Certified for Vietjet’s Aircraft
One advantage for Vietjet is that much of the regulatory groundwork needed to introduce Starlink has already been completed.
As of mid-May 2026, Starlink had secured supplemental type certification for the Airbus A320, A321neo, and A330, covering the aircraft types operated by Vietjet.
These certifications allow the satellite internet equipment to be installed on approved aircraft configurations, potentially simplifying the airline’s deployment process.
Starlink Continues Expanding Its Aviation Business
SpaceX has been working to bring its satellite internet service to airlines around the world, offering an alternative to traditional inflight Wi-Fi systems that can struggle with slower speeds and higher latency.
Vietjet joins a growing list of more than 40 airlines worldwide that have selected Starlink for inflight connectivity, with around half already offering the service to passengers on at least part of their fleets.
Vietjet has not yet announced when its first Starlink-equipped aircraft will enter service or how long the full fleet installation will take. Additional details are expected during the September 23 announcement.
