Tesla has quietly expanded its Robotaxi app availability in Canada, with Android users finally able to download the app through the Google Play Store.
The expansion comes nearly five months after Tesla first released the Android version in the United States, and about a year after the Robotaxi app initially became available to Canadian iPhone users.
Tesla launched the Android version of the Robotaxi app in the U.S. in April, ending a lengthy wait for Android users after the company initially focused exclusively on iOS. At the time, however, the Google Play listing was restricted to the U.S., leaving Canadian Android users unable to install it through official channels.
That has now changed, with the Tesla Robotaxi app now available through the Canadian Google Play Store. The listing shows more than 50,000 have already downloaded the app since it was released. (h/t: @TeslaHype)

As with the iOS release in Canada, the Android expansion does not mean Tesla’s Robotaxi service is launching in Canada. Instead, Canadians can download the app, sign in using their Tesla account and use it when travelling to a U.S. city where Robotaxi service is available.
