Lucid Motors is recalling 4,476 of its 2025/2026 model Gravity SUVs because of a problem with the seat belts.
This figure covers almost every 2025 Gravity SUV manufactured before February 14, 2026. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that 97 percent of the total production is affected.
The seat belts on the second-row seats of the luxury SUV are reportedly improperly welded, posing a safety hazard to vehicle occupants in the event of an accident. The seat belt does not comply with the standard seating requirements.
Lucid reportedly discovered the problem while running checks for a separate issue. The fault was traced to the seat maker, Camaco, who made an unapproved alteration during manufacturing.
Lucid will repair or replace affected seat belts. According to the update, the affected vehicle owners will receive notification via mail. They will not be charged for the corrective action.
Lucid has set up a direct hotline (888-995-8243), which can be accessed with the recall number SR-26-04-00. The NHTSA also has a hotline at 888-327-4236 to answer inquiries about vehicle safety. Lucid customers can also check the NHTSA’s website with their vehicle identification number (VIN).
This is not the first problem Lucid would have with the quality of their cars. Right out of the oven, the 2025 Gravity had some software bugs and inconsistencies that slowed down its production timeline. Some buyers who had paid a deposit expressed their frustration over the delay at the time.
