Tesla opens Model 3 and Model Y orders in Colombia, its second South American market

Tesla has officially launched its presence in its second South American market. After months of ramping activity—including job postings, service hiring, and the announcement of the company’s first local demo drives—Tesla has now opened orders for both the Model 3 and Model Y in Colombia.

Colombian buyers can now configure the latest versions of both vehicles, with pricing that positions Tesla competitively against both legacy automakers and newer EV startups entering the region.

Pricing and Trims for Colombia

The Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive starts at $109,990,000 COP, which works out to roughly C$41,300 or US$29,300. It offers an estimated 520 km (WLTP) of range, a 201 km/h top speed, and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds. Long Range and Performance variants are also listed at $139,990,000 COP and $164,990,000 COP, respectively.

The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive starts at $119,990,000 COP, equivalent to around C$45,050 or US$32,000. It delivers 466 km (WLTP) of range, the same 201 km/h top speed, and a quicker 5.9-second sprint to 100 km/h. The Long Range AWD variant is available at $144,990,000 COP.

These prices immediately place Tesla among the most aggressively priced EVs in Colombia. For example, the BYD Dolphin, a Model 3 competitor, starts at around $161,000,000 COP, almost the same price as the Model 3 Performance.

Deliveries in February/March 2026

Tesla lists first deliveries beginning in February or March 2026, signaling that the company has already secured its logistics and homologation timeline, putting Colombia on a fairly aggressive rollout schedule from launch to the first deliveries.

Superchargers in Colombia

Along with launching sales, Tesla also announced the start of its Supercharger network in Colombia. According to Tesla’s Find Us map, the company is planning the first Supercharger in Colombia’s capital city of Medellín .

Demo Drives

Tesla has been building momentum for months, and earlier this week the company officially confirmed its first Colombian demo drives. Interested customers can book sessions in:

  • Bogotá on November 21
  • Medellín on November 25

A Major Milestone for Tesla’s Latin America Expansion

With orders officially live, demo drives getting underway on Friday, and hiring accelerating, Colombia is now on track to become one of Tesla’s most important EV markets in Latin America. Competitive pricing, combined with growing government support for electrification, could place Tesla at the top of a rapidly expanding Colombian EV market.
