Tesla Launches Model Y Standard in Europe, Adds New Marine Blue Colour Option

Tesla has officially introduced the Model Y Standard in Europe, marking the company’s latest effort to deliver a more affordable electric SUV. The release of the vehicle in Europe comes just a few days after the new entry-level Model Y debuted in the United States.

New Entry-Level Model Y from Giga Berlin

Built and shipped from Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin, the Model Y Standard is now the most affordable Model Y ever released in Europe, starting at €39,990 (C$64,900/US$46,200). It delivers an estimated 534 km of WLTP-rated range. The Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, powered by Tesla’s latest single-motor powertrain.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin between December 2025 and January 2026, joining the Long Range and Performance trims that continue to be produced in Berlin for European and Canadian customers.

With the release, the Model Y Standard has permanently replaced the previous Standard Range RWD configuration in Europe, which has been removed from the online configurator. It was previously priced at €44,990 (C$72,990/US$52,080).

While the Model Y Standard is now available to order in European countries, Giga Berlin hasn’t actually started production of it yet. According to comments made by plant manager André Thierig earlier this week, mass production of the new Model Y Standard would begin “in a few weeks.”

We have previously covered what is included, or more appropriately, excluded in the Model Y Standard to attain a lower price point. However, there is one notable difference between the U.S. and European version. In Europe, the Model Y Standard comes with Autopilot as standard equipment, whereas in the U.S. it only comes with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) as standard, and lane-keeping (Autosteer) is not available.

New Marine Blue Paint

Alongside the new variant, Tesla also rolled out a new Marine Blue paint option. This new colour is currently only available from Giga Berlin’s Paint Shop, and is also available exclusively for the Model Y Premium and Performance trim.

Opting for the new colour adds €1,500 (C$2,433/US$1735) to your final bill.

As with other colours that have debuted at Giga Berlin, we will likely see Marine Blue appear at Giga Shanghai, Giga Texas, and Fremont, in 2026.
