Tesla opens new Service Center in Kelowna

Tesla has officially opened its new Sales, Service, and Delivery Center in Kelowna, British Columbia, marking a significant milestone for Tesla owners in the Okanagan region of British Columbia.

Tesla’s journey to establish a presence in Kelowna has been a long one. In late 2021, the company explored the possibility of acquiring the Kelowna Hyundai dealership at 3260 Hwy 97 N to repurpose it as a Tesla facility. However, these discussions did not materialize into a finalized agreement. Undeterred, Tesla shifted its focus to constructing a purpose-built facility.

In September 2023, a development permit application was submitted to the City of Kelowna for the new Service Center located in the Airport Business Park at 3425 Circuit Rd.

The application outlined plans for a 30,000 square foot building, with Tesla saying that the proposed development would “set a new level of industrial standard for the neighborhood” and “provide employment-generating opportunities to the city.”

Construction progressed steadily throughout 2024, and this week Tesla updated their website to show the Kelowna location is now officially open.

According to Tesla, the showroom is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Service is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

As with other openings of new Service Centers, deliveries of new vehicles will likely begin at this location in the next month or two.

This new Service Center will be a welcomed addition for Tesla owners in the Okanagan, who previously faced challenges in accessing comprehensive service options. Mobile Service was available on a limited basis, and some independent businesses in the area offered limited services for Tesla vehicles, many owners had to take lengthy trips to Vancouver for certain services and repairs.

Tesla isn’t just expanding in Kelowna with the Service Center. The company is also currently building a new 16-stall Supercharger at the Orchard Park Shopping Center at 2271 Harvey Ave.
