Tesla has released a new 2022.2.1 software update that allows owners to customize the colour the car that is rendered on their center display.
The update has so far only appeared in China, and is part of the special Chinese Lunar New Year update.
According to an image of the new feature received by Teslascope, it appears as if owners can select the colour from a colour wheel, and presumably with Hex or RGB inputs as well.

UPDATE 10:02pm PST: Based on a decompile of the latest version 4.5.0 of the mobile app, the code for this feature is also in the North American mobile app, so it is only a matter of time before this gets released outside of China.
we have found the underlying code that allows this functionality to happen inside version 4.5.0 of the mobile app. This is inside of the US 4.5.0 app update. My guess is Tesla will bring this to the US soon. Note these paint related functions are in the GoDot scripts pic.twitter.com/P20SH7Q0Bu
