Xpeng launches orders for two of its EVs in Europe

Xpeng Motors has started taking orders for two of its electric vehicles (EVs) in several European countries as the as automaker begins its expansion outside of China. Customers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands can now order the Xpeng P7 sedan and G9 SUV.

To help kick off the opening of their order books in Europe, XPeng will have both EVs on display at the eCar Expo 2023 in Stockholm until February 5.

“XPENG G9 and P7 bring a combination of superior styling, quality, performance and comfort, exemplifying our market-leading technology and innovation. Today also represents a significant milestone as we build our presence in Europe. We believe both vehicles deliver a new level of sophistication and a people-first mobility experience, and will be the electric vehicles of choice for many European customers,” said Brian Gu, Vice Chair and President of XPENG.

Xpeng has decided to price their P7 sedan competitively, putting it below the starting prices for similar spec’d Tesla Model 3. The starting price of the P7 sits at 49,990 euros in the Netherlands. It comes with an estimated range of 576km (357 miles), while the Model 3 Long Range costs 52,990 euros and can go 602km (374 miles) on a single charge.

In contrast the G9 SUV is priced higher than the Model Y. According to Xpeng, the G9 can travel up to 570km (354 miles) on a single charge. The Model Y Long Range can travel up to 533km (331 miles). In the Netherlands, Xpeng has set the price of the G9 at 57,990 euros, compared to 53,990 euros for the Model Y Long Range.
