Where in the solar system is Starman and his Tesla Roadster?

It has been just over 2 years since Elon Musk famously launched his Tesla Roadster into space aboard the inaugural flight of the Falcon Heavy rocket.

Soon after launch, we were treated to some amazing views of earth from the Roadster, as it began its journey into outer space. (Try not to get goose bumps watching the video of the launch below)

Now two years later, where exactly is Starman and his Tesla Roadster? According to Ben Pearson and his website ‘Where is Roadster?’, they’re really, really far away.

The Roadster is now further away from the sun than Mars. It is approaching 344,000,000km (213,600,000 miles) on the odometer, while travelling at a speed of over 15,000km/h (9,500mph).

If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of Starman as he passes by earth on his next orbit, you might have to wait a while. Scientists estimate that won’t happen until the year 2091, and even then he will be a few hundred thousand kilometers away.
