Vinfast set to open first Canadian store in Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre

Vinfast has plans to release two electric SUVs in Canada later this year, and has already announced intentions to open 38 new retail locations across Canada before the end of 2023.

It looks like one of the first locations to open its doors in Canada will be at Mississauga’s Square One Shopping Centre.

The Vietnamese automaker hasn’t officially announced any of their Canadian locations yet, but signage that recently appeared inside the mall leaves no doubt as to who is about to move in.

A review of Vinfast’s careers page shows they plan to open this store and another in Vancouver, although none of the job listings give any indication as to the opening dates.

They will likely be opening soon, as they plan to release the VF8 and VF9 electric SUVs in 2022.

Pricing for Canada has also not been released, but it is expected to be similar to the US – the VF8 starts at $41,000 (~$52,000), while the VF9 begins at $56,000 (~$71,000 CAD).

Founded four years ago, VinFast has quickly established itself as a quality automaker in Vietnam.

After announcing plans to only build EVs by the end of 2022, the company delivered its first EV, the VF34, in Hai Phong, Vietnam on Christmas day last year.
