Toyota bZ4X electric SUV to launch in Canada this spring, starts at $44,900

Toyota has announced the bZ4X electric SUV will be coming to Canada later this spring, and it will be priced low enough for several trims to qualify for the $5,000 iZEV rebate.

The bz4X is the first in Toyota’s lineup of upcoming bZ, or ‘Beyond Zero’ electric vehicles.

Canadians get to pick from four different trim options.

Toyota is offering the bZ4X in two front-wheel drive (FWD) configurations, both of which are able to travel 406km on a full charge.

The bZ4X L starts at $44,990. It is a bare bones model and comes equipped with 18″ wheels and is only available in a solid black body colour with a black interior.

The bZ4X LE starts at $49,990. For the extra $5,000 you get quite a few more features like a 12.3” touchscreen display, front seat heater and foot and leg radiant heater, a heated and leather clad steering wheel, and more.

It also comes in a choice of four body colours: Black, Wind Chill Pearl, Element Silver, and Nautical Blue Metallic. All feature a black interior.

There are two all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations to choose from, both of which get 367km of range on a full charge.

The bZ4X XLE is priced at $54,990, just under the threshold to qualify for the federal rebate. It comes with a host of additional performance and safety features, panoramic roof, HomeLink, wireless phone chargers, and more.

It comes in a choice of nine body colours and s standard black roof.

The top-of-the-line bZ4X XLE Technology Package starts at $62,750. For that you get an upgraded JBL audio system, 20″ wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, and more.

All trims feature a 6.6kW on board charger allowing for a full charge from a Level 2 charger in about 11 hours.
