Toyota has confirmed the return of the C-HR to Canada and the United States in 2026, this time as a fully electric compact crossover. Built on Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA platform, the all-electric C-HR will be available in two trims—SE (FWD) and XSE (AWD).
Performance and Range
In Canada, the front-wheel-drive SE model will offer an estimated range of up to 500km (310 miles), powered by a 221-horsepower system. The all-wheel-drive XSE version increases output to 338 horsepower, with an estimated range of 465km (289 miles). Toyota expects the AWD model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 5.2 seconds.
Both variants use a 77-kWh lithium-ion battery and will feature a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing compatibility with Tesla’s Supercharger network. Under ideal conditions, fast charging from 10% to 80% can be completed in roughly 30 minutes.

Dimensions and Interior Features
With a length of 4,520 mm, width of 1,870 mm, and height of 1,595 mm, the C-HR maintains a compact footprint while offering 720 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats. The cabin features a clean and functional design, with a standard 14-inch touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, and dual wireless phone chargers.
Buyers will also benefit from Toyota’s latest multimedia system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as connected services such as Remote Connect and Drive Connect trials.

Safety and Driver Assistance
The 2026 C-HR will come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, including features like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Additional technologies such as Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Safe Exit Alert are also included.
For Canadian winter conditions, the C-HR will offer battery pre-conditioning to optimize charging performance in cold weather, enhancing usability year-round.
Trim-Level Highlights
- SE (FWD): Includes heated front seats, heated steering wheel, power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, and 18-inch wheels.
- XSE (AWD): Adds larger 20-inch wheels, SofTex and synthetic suede seats, driver memory seat, and enhanced driver assistance features such as Traffic Jam Assist and Lane Change Assist. An optional Technology Package adds a panoramic roof, rear heated seats, and JBL Premium Audio.
