Third Tesla Supercharger coming to Golden [British Columbia]

Golden is a small town in the interior of British Columbia with a population of just over 4,000 people. Despite this, and thanks to its location along a key travelling route through the province, the town will soon have three Tesla Superchargers.

The third Supercharger was discovered under construction and near completion today by Zack (@BLKMDL3). Based on a photo of the site shared by Zack on Twitter, the site feature 8 V3 stalls, all of which have already been installed. Construction fencing is still placed around the site indicating the installation was recently completed and that there is still some work to be done. It is diffuclt to tell from the photo as it is taken from a distance, but there does not appear to be any of the electrical cabinets installed yet.

According to Zack Golden’s third Supercharger is located in the parking lot of the Subway restaurant at 1402 Trans-Canada Hwy. This puts the new location just 800m and 1km away from the existing Superchargers.

Tesla has not added this location to their map of upcoming Superchargers, but given the state of construction and how long it can sometimes taken for the final connection to the grid, this third Golden Supercharger should open sometime in Q3. Once up and running there will be a total of 30 Supercharger stalls in Golden, 20 V3 stalls and 10 V2 stalls.

Golden will become the third location in BC to have three Superchargers, joining Kamloops and Merritt.
