The Boring Company is close to completing its next phase of the Vegas Loop, which will connect Wynn Las Vegas to the existing Las Vegas Convention Center Loop. Wynn Resorts announced the news and noted that the station will go live in the first quarter of 2024. The station’s entrance will be located near the Encore valet entrance.
Per a Wynn spokesperson at a press conference:
The tunnel is the latest enhancement in Wynn’s continued commitment to offering eco-friendly meetings and conventions in Las Vegas. (via KNTV)
According to Wynn, this was the first time that the tunneling machine, known as the Prufrock-2, did not require a crane to retrieve it. This meant the retrieval was faster and more cost-effective for the Boring Company.
As we reported earlier, Prufrock-1 and Prufrock-2 emerged out of the ground in Las Vegas this week, with the latter smashing the time set by the first-generation tunneling machine GODOT when tunneling the first part of the Vegas Loop.
If you want to ride the Loop, we know you will pay for the ride to and from Wynn. The resort is not covered under the agreement between the Boring Company and Las Vegas Convention Center, which sees free transportation for users. The exact pricing has not been confirmed, but even if it is a couple of dollars, it will be worth not having to Uber or walk.
