Ford has unwrapped the 2025 version of the Mustang Mach-E, adding a much sought-after feature while dropping the price by US$3,500.
The refreshed Ford Mustang Mach-E has been revealed. The legacy automaker has added a heat pump in the new iteration, which will be standard on all trims. Heat pumps are desired by EV drivers because they cool or heat the cabin more efficiently, reducing battery consumption and thereby extending the driving range.
Meanwhile, adding the heat pump means a slightly smaller frunk (front trunk). However, this will be a small price for most drivers to pay for the increaed efficiency.
The 2025 Mustang Mach-E includes other updates, like a new steering gear lever design that improves the storage space in the center console. Buyers can also opt for a new Sport Appearance Package that makes the Premium trim appear sportier and a range of new colors.
The battery sizes remain the same at 72 and 91 kWh, but the heat pumps should give buyers more driving range. The EPA estimates the Premium trim fitted with the 91 kWh battery will get 320 miles on a single charge.
Ford has also updated BlueCruise by adding automatic lane changing. Drivers can let the car handle a slower-moving vehicle, another car being too close for comfort in the passing lane, or when a vehicle approaches speedily from the back. However, the driver can take over any time using the steering wheel or stalk.
Perhaps the most exciting change is the price. The lowest trim now starts at US$36,495 (without destination fee), US$3,500 cheaper than the 2024 version that saw an increase in the price. Canadian pricing has not yet been announced.
