Tesla’s Latest App Update Prepares for Early Access Program, Supercharger Queues, and More

Tesla has released a new update to its mobile app with version 4.43.5, and early signs from a decompile of the app by Tesla App Updates on X suggest this isn’t just another round of bug fixes, but within the code are several future-facing features that could reshape how owners interact with their vehicles.

Early Access Program Enrollment Goes In-App

One of the most notable additions is the direct integration of the Early Access Program (EAP) enrollment. Until now, EAP participants, who help Tesla test unreleased software and provide valuable data, have enrolled through invite-only links or external processes. This program was first introduced many years ago, but was very difficult to get access to it, and appeared to have been abandoned in recent years.

But it looks like soon enrollment and unenrollment will be accessible directly through the mobile app.

Supercharger Queue System Arrives

Another long-awaited feature hidden in the app is the introduction of a Supercharger Queue system, designed to manage high-demand Supercharger stations more efficiently. New strings such as REQUEST_JOIN_SUPERCHARGER_QUEUE and REQUEST_MORE_TIME_IN_SUPERCHARGER_QUEUE show that drivers may soon be able to reserve or extend their charging slots directly from the app.

While this Supercharger queue system is not yet active in the app, it was first announced as coming in Q2 in response to a suggestion from Drive Tesla on X, so we could see it turned on as soon as next week.

Full Self-Driving Subscription Transparency

Tesla is also adding a welcome feature to improve FSD purchase transparency. The app will now show the exact version of FSD you would receive before confirming a subscription, helping reduce surprises or confusion about which software version you will receive.

This is another feature we suggested Tesla implement last year. It is great to see the company actively listening to and implementing feedback!

More Robotaxi & Energy System Hints

The update continues to include references to Tesla’s future Robotaxi network, with additional strings relating to ride cleanliness feedback. These likely tie into preparing both the user interface and back-end systems for customer feedback once Robotaxis are on the road.

Home energy customers also get some new features, with alerts for sudden or gradual drops in solar system performance appearing in the code. These could help homeowners detect and address issues more proactively.
