Tesla has been adding a number of new features in 2024 software updates, including several notable features in the spring and summer updates. The next software release, version 2024.32, is again going to include some notable features that are primarily focused on improving the map and navigation experience.
Real-Time Construction Alerts
One of the additions in update 2024.32 is the introduction of real-time construction alerts. For those with Premium Connectivity and Online Routing enabled, Tesla’s navigation system will now display construction sites along your route. While Tesla’s navigation has always considered construction when planning routes, they will now be visually represented on the map when the information is available.
As outlined in the release notes shared by Not A Tesla App, an icon on the screen will mark these areas, adding to the other icons recently added, including those for stop signs, traffic lights, and traffic cameras.
Predictive Text for Navigation
Another improvement in this update is the introduction of predictive text for navigation searches. As you begin typing in a destination, the system will now offer suggestions to complete your search more quickly, aiming to make the process of finding a destination faster and more efficient. Predictive text will not require a Premium Connectivity subscription.
Search This Area Functionality
Tesla has also added a “Search This Area” feature, which as the name implies, allows you to find relevant points of interest in the specific region displayed on the your screen, similar to what is found in popular mapping applications.
Tire Service Notifications
Previously drivers could set a mileage-based reminder for tire rotations in the vehicle itself under the Wheel & Tire menu. With update 2024.32, you can now get a reminder from the mobile app when it’s time for a tire change or rotation, based on the schedule you’ve set. This feature requires the latest version of the Tesla mobile app (version 4.35 or later).
When Will 2024.32 Be Released?
This update is currently in the hands of Tesla employees for testing, but it is expected to roll out to the first wave of owners in the next week or two. As with all Tesla updates, the release won’t go to everyone at once, so if you don’t see it in that timeline, don’t be worried.
