Tesla Wall Connector Tops Home Charging Satisfaction Rankings for Fifth Straight Year

Tesla’s Wall Connector has been named the top Level 2 permanently mounted home charging station for the fifth consecutive year.

According to the results of the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Home Charging Study, Tesla once again stood out from the competition, earning a segment-leading score of 776 out of 1,000. The next closest competitors were Emporia and Wallbox with scores of 763 and 756, respectively.

The EVX study, now in its fifth year, surveys over 10,000 owners of 2019–2025 battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, evaluating home charging satisfaction across eight factors: reliability, ease of use, charging speed, fairness of retail price, cost of charging, cord length, ease of cable storage, and size of the charger. Tesla’s Wall Connector continued to lead in overall satisfaction by delivering strong performance in nearly every category.

One of the reasons Tesla continues to lead in this segment is the seamless user experience, which successfully balances advanced features with dependable functionality. The study found that Level 2 permanently mounted chargers, while offering the fastest and most convenient home charging experience, were reported to have the highest number of problems per 100 units at 39, largely due to app and Wi-Fi connection issues.

The findings suggest that while Level 2 charger adoption may be leveling off among newer model year vehicles, satisfaction remains highest among those who have invested in permanently mounted solutions—especially when they work as advertised. Tesla’s five-year streak shows that consistent quality and integration can still win over customers in a rapidly changing EV landscape.
