Tesla has shipped a second batch of Model Y vehicles from its Giga Berlin factory to Canada. The new shipment, which arrived in Halifax on Sunday, follows the first batch that landed in early September and was primarily allocated for customers in Ontario and Quebec.
Based on photos shared with us by one of our readers, this shipment included at least 300 to 400 vehicles. With the second batch now on Canadian soil, this shipment is expected to unlock deliveries across western provinces, including British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba.
Until now, deliveries of the European-built Model Y were concentrated in eastern Canada, primarily Ontario and Quebec, as part of the initial rollout.

When the first batch arrived in Canada last month, it marked the first time Tesla exported vehicles from Giga Berlin to North America. The move to shift to exporting Model Y from Europe instead of the United States came after tariffs raised the prices of Teslas in Canada by more than 20%. Importing from China was not an option as the Canadian government has imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese-made EVs.
With the switch in shipping logistics, Tesla was able to lower the price of the Model Y by $20,000, down to $64,990, below what it was priced at previously ($69,990).
Unfortunately, since Giga Berlin only produces the Model Y, customers in Canada can only buy existing inventory Model 3 units to obtain pre-tariff pricing, although stock of these units is becoming quite low.
As more Berlin-built Model Ys have now arrived, Canadian buyers in the western part of the country should see their estimated delivery dates update in their mobile app soon. However, it will still be at least another 2-3 weeks as the cars are shipped via rail across the country.
