Tesla Service and Delivery Centre in Saskatoon to open next month, construction work begins

After changing their Carrier Direct policy and ending home deliveries, it looks like Tesla is moving quickly to open a new location in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

A few weeks ago we told you the new Tesla store in Saskatoon would be coming “very soon” after the first job postings appeared in mid-October. At the same time we also learned that Tesla will be taking over the former Maserati dealership at 703 Melville Street.

Since then, Tesla has already started construction at the site, and begun notifying customers that they will be able to take delivery of their new cars in December.

According to soon-to-be owner Mike, he has been notified by his Tesla Advisor that his upcoming delivery, tentatively scheduled to happen between December 19 and 31, 2020, will happen at the new location on Melville Street.

Not only will deliveries begin soon, construction work has already begun on site. While these appear that they could be for new Superchargers, it is more likely this work is for Destination Chargers to be installed.

It appears as though it still may be some time before locations in Winnipeg and Halifax open. A Drive Tesla reader from Winnipeg reached out to us this week to let us know he had to cancel his delivery this week as Tesla no longer delivers to the city, and due to COVID-19 did not want to travel out of province.

Has anyone else been told to expect delivery in Saskatoon next month? Let us know in the comments below.
