Tesla, Rivian, and other EV websites saw massive increase in traffic in 2019

According to the latest research from Comscore, an American media measurement and analytics company, there are a lot more people interested in electric vehicles (EV’s) in 2019 compared to 2018.

Overall visits to EV website were up 92% in 2019, with the strongest growth seen by Rivian, which saw a massive 296% increase in traffic over the previous year.

Despite not selling a single vehicle, Rivian had more visitors that any niche brand already on the market, according to Comscore vice president of automotive Dennis Bulgarelli.

That boost in traffic is likely due to the company’s first vehicle announcement for the R1S, and the attention for the upcoming R1T electric pickup truck, expected to be released later this year.

Tesla also saw a large jump in visitor traffic, increasing 28.1% year-over-year. Following Tesla were Genesis (12.3%), Cadillac (8.0%), and Hyundai (6.7%).

The increased traffic is a sign of rising consumer interest and awareness in EV’s and the “potential ripening of the market for automakers”, according to Comscore.
