Tesla has secured the top spot as the UK’s best-rated car brand for 2025, with the automaker also scoring high in reliability, according to the latest Honest John Satisfaction Index.
Each year, Honest John surveys car owners across key categories, including efficiency, reliability, practicality, comfort, safety, and performance. This year’s results saw Tesla overtake the competition, reaffirming its strong presence in the UK market.
Scoring an impressive 89.41% overall satisfaction rating, the automaker outperformed long-standing favourites like Lexus and Porsche to claim the highest honour based on direct feedback from over 6,000 British motorists.

Tesla Leads Overall, Challenges Lexus on Reliability
Tesla’s dominance extended beyond just the top overall ranking. The brand also claimed second place in the reliability category with a notable 95.29% score, narrowly trailing Lexus, which maintained its reliability crown for the fifth consecutive year with a 97.01% rating. Toyota, Honda, and Skoda rounded out the reliability top five, continuing their reputations for dependable engineering.

Tesla’s customer satisfaction is not just about reliability, however. Owners highly rated the brand for performance, technology, and driving experience—areas where Tesla’s minimalist interiors, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and advanced driver-assistance features like Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Beta resonate strongly with drivers.
Within the model-specific findings, the Tesla Model 3 stood out as one of the most reliable vehicles in the UK market, achieving a reliability score of 94.58%, placing it ninth among the top 20 most reliable cars. This makes it one of only two electric vehicles to crack the reliability top 10.

Tesla’s Growing UK Loyalty
Tesla’s rise to the top of the 2025 Honest John Satisfaction Index reflects the brand’s growing loyalty among UK drivers. Despite lingering concerns over service availability and inconsistent build quality in the past, Tesla owners now report significantly improved experiences across the board.
