Tesla Model 3 brings home frunk-full of awards in UK

Tesla’s best selling Model 3 continues to rack up the awards, this time winning 4 of them in the UK at the Parkers New Car Awards 2020.

The Model 3 walked away with the award for Car of the Year, winning more categories than any single model previously in the history of their awards, including:

  • Best Company Car
  • Best Safety Award
  • Best Electric Car

The Model 3, which was the UK’s third-best selling car model in August, beat out the likes of Audi’s e-tron, Kia Niro, BMW 3 series, and Mercedes Benz E-Class in winning the awards. By winning car of the year, Parkers said the Model 3 has the “most complete implementation of driver assistance available in the UK”, which helped it win the safety award.

In speaking of its minimalist interior, they also said “a new approach to interior design and interaction creates a relaxing environment, and genuinely usable autonomous driving modes take the human stress out of congestion and monotonous, constant-speed motorway driving.” Hopefully UK Tesla owners will soon get the full Autopilot experience with proposed changes to rules.

These latest awards adds to the numerous awards won around the world, including winning the IIHS top safety award. We also recently got a glimpse into Tesla’s “Crash Lab”, where they crash Tesla after Tesla to improve upon the company’s top safety ratings.

You can see all awards on Parkers website.
