Tesla factory tours added back to referral program rewards

If you missed out on redeeming referral credits for a tour of the Fremont factory or Giga Texas last year, you now have another chance as they have been added back to the referral program rewards.

In September last year Tesla brought factory tours back after eliminating them in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tours used to be available at no cost to any Tesla owner, who could schedule one 60 minute tour once per year. However with the referral program, only owners who had 15,000 credits sitting their account, meaning you would need at least 2 referrals (10,000 credits each), were able to take a tour of one of Tesla’s Gigafactories.

Despite the change, the tours were quickly snapped up and removed from the mobile app within 10 days. On Thursday they returned, and like before, they require redeeming 15,000 credits. (h/t: @Sawyer Merritt).

According to the product description, tours of Fremont and Giga Texas are again limited, and will likely become “sold out” just as quickly as last time. However, it does say more tours will be added in the future.

As before, redemption of 15,000 credits will get you a tour of your selected Gigafactory for you and up to three guests. Travel and accommodation are not included, and tours are also restricted to those 12 years of age or older. If you are hoping to share your tour on social media, be aware that photos or videos will not be allowed.
