Tesla is expanding the footprint of its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) V14 ride-along program in Europe, giving more users the chance to experience the technology firsthand — even before regulators allow its deployment in customer vehicles.
The program has now officially launched in five countries across the continent, with the two latest to join the party being Denmark and Switzerland.
- Italy
- Germany
- France
- Switzerland
- Denmark
With the expansion, Tesla is currently offering sessions in multiple cities in both countries. In Denmark, FSD ride-alongs are now available through March 31, 2026 in Aarhus, Ribe, and Odense. While in Switzerland, customers can experience FSD in Cham, Bern, Zürich, and Basel, also until the end of March.
Getting Butts in Seats
The program, which launched in Italy, Germany, and France in late November, has proven extremely popular — early reservation slots filled up almost immediately. Tesla responded by extending the availability of the program for the public to book a demonstration from a local showroom.
Each session places a trained Tesla employee behind the wheel while the passenger experiences how FSD (Supervised) navigates busy city streets, merges into traffic, and manages complex driving scenarios using V14’s end-to-end neural network.
That hands-on exposure is a key component of Tesla’s strategy. CEO Elon Musk has acknowledged that the European approval process for supervised FSD has been slow and painful, with regulators requiring significant proof before unlocking the software for private use. By increasing public familiarity — and hopefully confidence — Tesla is aiming to accelerate regulatory progress.
Europe Still Waiting on Regulatory Green Light
Although Tesla has long tested supervised autonomy in Europe, major regulatory hurdles remain. Tesla’s goal is to obtain approval that allows owners to finally subscribe to or purchase FSD (Supervised), starting from the Netherlands in February 2026.
