Tesla adds $3,000 discount on remaining pre-tariff Model 3 inventory in Canada

Tesla is offering an additional $3,000 discount on its remaining pre-tariff priced Model 3 inventory in Canada, giving buyers another incentive to take delivery before having to pay higher post-tariff pricing. The discount comes after Tesla ran a promotion last month offering $5,000 off or free lifetime Supercharging to close out the third quarter.

Earlier this year, Tesla began highlighting vehicles in its online inventory as “pre-tariff” priced, signaling they were shipped to Canada before the federal government implemented a 25% tariff on some vehicles built in the United States. The tariff, introduced as a retaliatory measure to the U.S. administration’s own tariffs and trade restrictions, directly affected Tesla’s U.S.-built Model 3 sedans, as well as all of its other vehicles.

With this latest discount, depending on configuration, buyers can save nearly $18,000 compared to the same model that is subject to the post-tariff pricing.

Based on a review of inventory listings by Drive Tesla, demo versions of the Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) with low mileage can be purchased for around $64,000 with the additional discount, about $18,000 less than the post-tariff pricing. Brand new inventory models are priced around $66,000, around $15,000 less than if you were to build the same vehicle through Tesla’s online configurator.

The savings are not as substantial on the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), with overall reductions of around $5,000 to $6,000 depending on the configuration and whether it is a demo or new vehicle.

Tesla has not disclosed how much pre-tariff inventory remains available, but we have noticed a drop in volume since Tesla’s offered a $5,000 discount or free lifetime Supercharging last month. In our area (Vancouver), Model 3 RWD inventory has been completed depleted, and only half a dozen AWD vehicles remain available.
