SpaceX is offering some significant discounts on its Starlink hardware in both Canada and the United States. The discount in Canada is only available in select areas, while the US discount is available to anyone.
Starlink Discount in Canada
In Canada, SpaceX has brought back its regional savings program. The last time this program was offered was back in June, when Starlink hardware was discounted to $199, down from the regular $499 price. Now the deal is even better at just $99.
This deal is available as a cash discount directly on the Starlink website. However, if you purchase from a retailer, such as Best Buy, you can still get the same discount, except the $400 will be applied as service credits.
According to the Starlink website, the deal is available in select areas in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. There is no expiry date listed for the deal.
If you live outside of these provinces, or in areas within the selected provinces where the deal does not apply, you can still purchase a refurbished kit for C$299.
To prevent abuse of the deal, SpaceX says they will bill you for the full amount ($499) if you move the service to a different area within 6 months of the purchase.
Starlink Discount in the US
In the US the deal is different in that all residents can purchase the Starlink Standard Kit for $299. The discount is also only available until October 5, 2024.
Unlike in Canada, the discount is also available through third-party retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart.
Along with the discount, SpaceX is also offering a $100 service credit in areas with “abundant network availability.”
