Rivian has expanded its partnership with XPEL, with the two companies introducing a new Paint Protection Film (PPF) and Window Film customization program R1T and R1S owners in Canada and the United States.
In 2022 Rivian first partnered with XPEL to offer buyers the option to add PPF while configuring their vehicle, with the PPF installed by a certified shop after the customer has taken delivery. Now XPEL’s extended partnership with Rivian brings (PPF) and Window Film options to existing Rivian owners in Canada and the US who can now order these products directly from Rivian’s Gear Shop.
The offerings include:
- ULTIMATE PLUSâ„¢ Paint Protection Film: This advanced film safeguards paint from scratches, chips, and UV exposure while maintaining a glossy finish with self-healing capabilities. Options are available for the full front, rocker panels, and door sills.
- PRIME Window Film: Offering superior UV protection, heat rejection, and privacy, PRIME Window Film comes in a range of tints and performance levels, including PRIME CS, PRIME XR, and PRIME XR PLUS.
This program comes with set pricing, a five-year/60,000-mile warranty, and installation through XPEL’s Certified Rivian Network Partners.
The program works slightly differently in Canada, as the Rivian Gear Shop has not yet expanded north of the border, so owners here have to order it directly through XPEL at this link.
Pricing in Canada appears to be quite competitive to the US. For example, installing PPF on the full front, door sills, and rocker panels will costs $2,500 in Canada, or $2.645 in the US. While going with PRIME CS Window Film on all side and rear windows of the R1S will set you back C$550 or US$550.
Last month, Tesla announced a similar collaboration with XPEL, introducing official window tinting services, but only in the US.
