The Polestar 6 is still years away, but the Swedish automaker is already benchmarking two of its rival’s vehicles.
Edward Trinh, Polestar Australia’s Product Planning Manager announced at a Melbourne event showcasing the roadster concept they are benchmarking the Porsche 911 and the Porsche Taycan.
As per MSN, Trinh said:
We’re benchmarking this dynamically against a Porsche. [The] 911, the Taycan – they’re the types of cars we’re looking at. We believe they’re the benchmarks in the industry for vehicle dynamics. Speaking to the R&D team, we got a bit of insider information from the head of vehicle dynamics for this vehicle [that] they’re looking [into] trick suspension systems. They’re incredibly serious about it. It needs to handle. Vehicle dynamics is our background, we don’t forget about that heritage.
Even though we are still years away from the vehicle, but Polestar has already released some possible features.
These include:
- Top speed of 250 kw/h
- Peak power of 650 kW and peak torque of 900 Nm
- 600 km of range
- 15-inch central touchscreen
- Steering wheel mounted switchgear
- Integrated speakers in the headrest
- Camera-augmented side-mirrors
- Exterior light bar to show charging status
We do know a few other things about the roadster, like that it will enter production in 2026, and the first 500 will be LA Concept Edition models.
The sold out LA Concept Editions will have Sky Blue exterior paint, a light leather interior and a 21-inch wheel.
