Elon Musk is a man of many talents. Most know him for either his Tesla or SpaceX endeavours, but one of his other companies just completed a major milestone.
The Boring Company, which was founded by Musk in 2016, just finished the excavation of the first of two planned tunnels beneath the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
On Friday, the boring machine used by the Boring Company broke though the last bit of dirt and earth and a concrete wall with a sign #ONLYVEGAS at the West Hall convention. It did so after only starting boring activity in mid-November last year.
When complete, the twin-tunnels will be used to transport passengers from one end of the LVCC to the other in just over one minute in a fleet of electric Tesla vehicles.
The goal is for the second tunnel to complete and the entire system operational in time for the 2021 CES show taking place January 6-9, 2021.
Check out the video below showing the moment the boring machine broke through, marking the completion of the tunnel.
