Tesla’s targeted date for beginning production at their new Gigafactory 3 in China is the end of October 2019. Recent leaks have shown production line testing and Model 3’s in near-production ready states.
Now the latest flyover video from Jason Yang on Youtube shows just how far the Gigafactory has come since January of this year. The video opens with time lapse photos from each month this year, showing a near barren field in January 2019, all the way up to a near complete Gigafactory 3 in October.
This latest video shows that the surrounding roads have been paved, the lighting has been completed, and environmental re-construction will soon begin. According to Yang, the second phase of the plant is progressing just as fast as the first phase, and the top structure of the plant could be installed this month. It is reported that this second phase will be completed in March 2020.
What does all this mean? That Tesla is right on target, and maybe even ahead of schedule, and that production could potential start as soon as this week on made-in-China Tesla vehicles.
