Lucid has so far produced two variants of its Air sedan and delivered them to customers, the limited Dream Edition and the Air Grand Touring. That number is set to expand to three as the fledgling automaker has notified reservation holders that production of the Air Touring is about to begin.
The Touring variant is the mid-range offering in the Air lineup, with only the Air Pure below it, offering a more affordable price point than the Dream Edition and Air Grand Touring.
In an email sent to reservation holders yesterday, Lucid says Air Touring production “will begin soon,” without providing a specific date. The automaker also added that deliveries will be “starting shortly thereafter,” again without providing a date.
The email goes on to say that production will begin with Air Touring reservations that have a “common configuration of the most popular selections.”
Even though we have seen glimpses of the full aluminum roof at the Lucid factory, the automaker confirmed the first vehicles built will have the glass canopy.
According to the Lucid-Forum member who shared the email, his delivery advisor said he should receive an email as soon as next week to finalize his order that was placed on July 3, 2021.
The Air Touring starts at $172,500 in Canada or $125,900 in the US. Initial specs indicate the mid-range Air sedan will provide 620 horsepower and an estimated 653km (406 miles) of range on a full charge from a 112kWh battery.
