Hansshow Tesla Model 3/Y Instrument Cluster Display Review

The Hansshow 9.6-inch Instrument Cluster Display is a great addition for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y owners who want to enhance their driving experience. It fills a gap in Tesla’s native interface by seamlessly integrating two of the most requested features – CarPlay and Android Auto, which also gives you access to Waze.

This display is regularly priced at C$714/US$499, but for Black Friday it is priced at C$571/US$399, a 20% discount. But you can save another 25% with the coupon code DRIVETESLA at check out, bringing the price down to C$428.25/US$299.25, 40% off regular pricing. This includes free shipping, making it an excellent value for what it offers

Easy Installation

One of the best aspects of this product is how simple it is to install – it may be one of the easiest accessories I’ve installed. Hansshow also offers installation services in Southern California, but even if you’re not particularly tech-savvy, anyone can install this screen on your own. Simply run the flat wire from the steering wheel along the dash and then down along the side of the center console, tucking it in as you go for a seamless appearance.

The hardest part is removing the cover on the back of the center console, but even that is easy as Hansshow includes tools to help with this. Once the cover is off, all you need to do is disconnect the stock blue plug and connect the new white plug in between and you’re good to go. It really is that simple.

As for the screen itself, it attaches to the dash with the included and already applied double sided tape, so there is no need to remove and take apart the dash like some other instrument cluster displays on the market.

Enhanced Features

Probably the biggest draw of adding this screen is CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a game-changer for Tesla owners who have been longing for these functionalities. Whether you’re streaming music, taking calls, or navigating with Waze, the system works flawlessly and feels like a natural extension of your Tesla’s interface.

The 9.6-inch touchscreen is bright, responsive, and well-designed to fit in with the rest of the design aesthetic and make it look like a stock feature. The screen has automatic day/night modes for improved visibility in any lighting condition. The real-time data sync is another excellent feature, providing battery status, mileage, tire pressures, and more.

It is worth nothing that on our test unit we couldn’t get the tire pressure to display, and the car visualization was stuck as a white Model Y, when it was installed in our Midnight Silver Metallic Model 3. Despite a software update these issues have not yet been corrected (still working on it), but neither of them detract from the real benefits of adding this display (the screen you see above is rarely on as I typically have it connected to CarPlay and Waze all the time).

Due to the placement of the display, it does also block airflow from the vents if you have them directed straight at the driver. To get around this simply split the airflow to go around either side of the display.

If you’re a Tesla Model Y or Model 3 owner who has been waiting for CarPlay, Waze, or an intuitive HUD, this Hansshow display is a great solution. With its easy installation, OTA updates, and feature set, it feels like a seamless upgrade that Tesla could have included from the start.
