It looks like Ford is less than two weeks away from the start of deliveries of the F-150 Lightning.
At least we believe deliveries are about to start soon. Ford CEO Jim Farley announced this morning on Twitter “it’s time,” along with an image saying “F-150 Lightning Strikes April 26, 2022,” leaving some to wonder if that will be the start of production or deliveries.

We reported back in February that Ford had started notifying F-150 Lightning reservation holders that their electric trucks were being scheduled for production.
One customer shared a screenshot of an email saying his F-150 Lightning Lariat was scheduled for production in the week of April 18, 2022.
If Ford is able to deliver the first Lightning trucks on that date, it would be just shy of one year from when the truck was first officially announced.
The automaker has seen an impressive level of demand for the Lightning. They had amassed around 200,000 reservations before closing their order books in early December.
They were forced to that even after more than doubling their initial production target, as it is still well below what is needed to make it through the backlog of orders in a timely fashion.
