Blink announces new NACS and CCS fast-charger

Fresh off announcing their support for Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), Blink Charging has unveiled a new DC fast-charging model supporting the NACS connector.

The new Blink Dual-Port CCS and NACS charger will deliver 240-kW charging power with a CCS1 and NACS connector and silicon carbide power electronics to improve efficiency. The smaller charger focuses on speed and ease of installation.

Per the company, the charger is in the final design and development stage and will soon be available to order. Once the design is finalized, the company will submit the charger for UL certification.

CEO and President Brendan Jones had this to say about the new charger:

“The development and installation of DC fast chargers continue to grow. The technology is ideal for highway use or when drivers need the convenience of a faster charge time to keep on schedule. Our new Blink DC Fast Charger, providing both CCS and NACS connectors, is the perfect solution for any EV on the market.”

Blink did not provide more details on the cost or when the new charger will be available to order. However, the company continues to focus on delivering a best-in-class level 2 charging solution that we may see become more popular with CCS and NACS dominating the North American market.
