Autopilot will now be available on all Tesla loaner vehicles

If you’re ever in the situation where you need to drop your Tesla off at one of their service centres, you will likely be given a loaner vehicle until your service is complete. Sometimes this can be an ICE vehicle, but many times it can be a Tesla. Autopilot wasn’t always enabled on these loaner vehicles though.

Now Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced on Twitter that Autopilot will be enabled on all Tesla loaner vehicles from now on.

A Twitter user followed up by noting that not all of the vehicles in the Tesla loaner fleet were capable of Autopilot (pre-2014), and Musk replied that those will be removed from the fleet to ensure only Autopilot capable vehicles are available for customers.

This is probably a good move for Tesla, and a potential money maker. If a customer gets a loaner vehicle that has Autopilot, while they don’t have it on their vehicle, it could entice them to purchase it as an add-on after experiencing it first-hand.
